On Tuesday night, the boys lacrosse team took an early lead, survived an impressive comeback, and then shifted its game into a higher gear to pull away from Plainfield for a 16-10 win. Four consecutive second-half goals brought Plainfield back to even at 9-9, but a combination of impressive backstopping by Charlie Rominger (’21), senior leadership from Gavin Gershman and Logan Mobasser, and timely goals from Tate Surtani (’21) and Jack Button (’21) fueled a 7-1 run to finish the contest. Scoring for the Panthers were Surtani (6), Mobasser (3), Zach Aldridge (’20) and Will Morris (’22) with two apiece, and single goals from Alex Badman (’22), Gershman, and Button. The captains awarded the game ball to Rominger for his impressive physical and mental showing. The Panthers return to action on Thursday night at home against Scecina. Faceoff is set for 5:30.
