The boys lacrosse team returned to action on a beautiful Tuesday night at Memorial Field for a tussle with its neighbors from Lawrence Township. The Bearcats are a remarkably athletic team, and the game was a back-and-forth affair for the first quarter. In the second, the Panthers settled into their offense and the shots began to fall. Logan Mobasser’s (’19) hard work at the faceoff X allowed the Panthers to control possession. During a few long defensive stands, the exceptional work of Jack Button (’21), Gavin Murphy (’21) and Steph Douglas (’22) limited the number of quality chances the Bearcats could earn, and Charlie Rominger (’21) provided a strong last line of defense in cage, saving 17 of Lawrence’s 27 shots on goal. On offense, Gavin Gershman (’19) led the Panthers in scoring with seven tallies for the game. Sophomore Tate Surtani added five of his own. Rounding out the scoring were Mobasser (4G), Zach Aldridge (’20) (1G), Will Morris (’22) (1A), and freshman Harrison Davis, who, with one goal and one assist, earned the first two points of his varsity lacrosse career. The Panthers get three consecutive days of practice before heading north to Chicagoland for a date with Maine South on Saturday.
