A shorthanded boys lacrosse team traveled to Bloomington North High School on Friday night and discovered just how true it is that little things make big differences. A missed ground ball here and a costly penalty there added up to the Panthers losing the game in the fourth quarter. Positive performances from newcomers included those of midfielder Gavin Murphy (’21), who was asked to play much more due to absent teammates, and Steph Douglas (’22), who was a defensive rock for the entire game, earning himself the game ball. Murphy logged his first career assist in the game. Joining him on the scoresheet were Tate Surtani (’21) (2G, 1A), Zach Aldridge (’20) (1G), Gavin Gershman (’19), (5G), and Will Morris (’22) (1G). The Panthers return to play on Tuesday at Lawrence North. Faceoff is set for 5:00.
