Multiple Teams · Varsity Sports Update 10/6/16

Varsity Football: The Panthers came from behind to defeat Speedway 38-36 in the Gridiron Classic at Victory Field on Friday, September 30. They travel to Monrovia this Friday; game time is 7:00 p.m. Sectionals begin October 21 with the Panthers taking on the Broad Ripple Rockets at Broad Ripple.

Boys Tennis: The No. 2 Panthers took down No. 16 Avon in a tough contested battle in the first round of Regional play on Tuesday. Wins for PT came first at #1 Doubles (Jaren Katz/Will Emhardt), then #3 Singles (Vijay Tewari), and then the clincher at #2 Doubles (Alex Kim/Benton Wiegel). The team followed up with a 5-0 defeat of Zionsville for the Regional Championship, earning a spot in the Semi-State match on Saturday at Center Grove at 10:00 a.m.

Cross Country: The Cross Country team will be in action this Saturday in their sectional, which is hosted by Brebeuf High School. The team competed in the ICC conference meet this week, and the girls placed fourth overall while the boys placed fifth overall.

Volleyball: The Volleyball team will wrap up their regular season over the next week. They will travel to Monrovia for their final ICC match up, then play at the Chatard Invitational on Saturday, before finishing up at Western Boone next week. Their sectional will begin the week of 10/17 and will be played at Speedway High School.

Boys Soccer: The team opened sectional play last night vs. Sheridan, winning 6-0. The sectional championship game will be on Saturday, October 8 and will be played at PT.

Girls Soccer: The Lady Panthers won their first round sectional game vs Broad Ripple on Monday. The sectional is being played at Heritage Christian and the girls will be in action again today as they take on ISI; game time is 5:00 p.m. The championship game is set to be played at Heritage Christian on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
