The No. 1 ranked Park Tudor Panthers will face No. 2 Clarksville at the 2A Seymour Semistate on Saturday, approximately 3 p.m. The team won the Connersville regional semifinal, 87-67 over Crispus Attucks, advancing to the evening regional championship against Speedway. The team’s preparation for the postseason showed, as the Panthers captured their fifth regional title, 83-50. In the first half, the team hit 9 of 11 three-pointers, and Trevon Bluiett and Dwayne Gibson each had six from behind the arc.
Semistate Tickets: Tickets are $8.00 and will be sold in the athletics office during the following times:
Wednesday, March 19, 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Thursday, March 20, 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Friday, March 21, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
The game is anticipated to sell out, and Park Tudor fans should arrive early as there is a game at 1 p.m. Parking will be difficult, and the stands will be packed.
Marion County honors: Senior Trevon Bluiett has been named Marion County Player of the Year, as voted unanimously by the Marion County Coaches Association. Austin Shelton and Dwayne Gibson each received honorable mention. Coach Kyle Cox, in his first year as head coach, was named Marion County Coach of the Year.
Boys Basketball State Tickets: With the possibility of a deep run in the state tournament, and since the state finals fall in the middle of Park Tudor’s spring break, we are planning ahead for ticket sales if we’re in the championship. The Class 2A State Championship will be played Saturday, March 29 at approximately 12:15 p.m. at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. The cost of each ticket is $15 – cash or check payable to Park Tudor School. Individuals wishing to sit together will be limited to 10 tickets in a single purchase.
