The PT Varsity Crew finished off their fall season at the “Head of the Hooch,” a huge regatta that draws 10,000 rowers from more than 200 teams to challenge the 5,000-meter course over two days on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga. This year, dangerous winds forced officials to cancel the first day’s racing, but the PT Crew made their best showing ever at “The Hooch” during the second day’s races. The Varsity Mixed 8+, with Panther oarsmen Luke Elliott, Annabella Helman and Alec Stanley onboard, brought home the bronze medal. Alex and Roddy Bowlby finished 4th in the Varsity Men’s Pairs, missing a medal by a mere half-dozen ticks of the clock. The PT Crew had its most successful season in memory, medaling in more than 20 events. The crew is always looking for new rowers to join them for the winter and spring seasons!
